3D TILES: TRIDIMENSIONAL IDEAS FOR BATHROOMS

Welcome back!

Today I’m talking to you about an important trend regarding innovative coatings: the 3D tiles!

Certainly, you have already had the chance to admire the beauty of walls bearing tactile reliefs and patterns.
Their most accentuated feature is given by the interaction with light, creating wonderful atmospheres in many rooms of your house.

However, today I want to focus the attention on the bathroom.
The possibility to place many lighting points , the contrast with smooth-surfaced sanitary fixtures, a more intimate interior easy to be personalized, make the bathroom the perfect room for tridimensional coatings.

I have thought about some suggestions to avoid too many details and style forcings and create an elegant and refined bathroom with 3D details.

3D TILES : BETTER WITH NEUTRAL COLOURS

With tridimensional tiles, to play an important role in creating harmony and comfort are not only colours and lighting points and so on….

The touch is another important protagonist to be added. To make the fittings nice and never “heavy”, it is fundamental to choose delicate hues.
I suggest to use the white or neutral colours which exalt the reflection of the light caressing the patterns of the 3-D tiles.
Each relief exalts the colour of the tiles in a thousand shades: these ones are the real protagonists of the tridimensional coating you have chosen.

3D TILES: DO NOT COAT ALL THE WALLS

Just because of the strong impact that these tiles have both on the sight and on the touch, I think it is useless and self-defeating to coat all the vertical surfaces with tridimensional patterns.

We can alternate between niches coated in 3D tiles and smooth surfaces, trying not to overcharge the bathroom , maintaining a pleasant and light total effect.

Alternating the pattern of matter with a more neutral one gives the bathroom a never tiring perceptive movement . Try and see!

3D TILES : PAY ATTENTION TO THE LIGHTING POINTS TO EXALT THE BEAUTY OF TRIDIMENSIONAL COATINGS.

The lighting points are to be planned with deep care in any situation and in any environment. However, the choice of valuable coatings like the 3D tiles means an even deeper care.
Light has to caress the shapes, exalting their beauty. Thus, go-ahead backlighting mirror and hanging elements using LED technology and placing lighting points skimming the walls.
This kind of lighting which “flows” on the vertical surfaces is perfect to exalt 3D-patterned tiles.

HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL OR CONCENTRIC DETAILS: A PATTERN FOR ANY BATHROOM.

The choice of the tridimensional patterns of the 3-D tiles can’t depend on out taste only. We have to take into account the dimension of the room we are going to have coated.

Let’s remember that horizontal patterns lenghten the design as a whole and are perfect for small bathrooms. The vertical ones, on the contrary, go right for the bathrooms having a not very high ceiling.
The concentric or circular patterns are the most delicate to place and have a stronger impact on the eye.
I suggest to use this type of patterns on smaller, vertical surfaces only, maybe behind a basin or to coat a shower cubicle. On higher sizes they might result too strong.

I love 3D tiles. What about you? Do you like them as much as I do?
