Piazza della Signoria in Florence is ready to welcome fashion and interior design lovers at Gucci Giardino 25.
Half traditional Tuscan “bottega” and half refined French bistrot, this cafe & cocktail bar has just opened its doors for the first time.
A welcoming, yet a bit mysterious space, latest addition to the Gucci Garden collection, the creative and multitasking space imagined by creative director Alessandro Michele in 2018.
The name Giardino 25, not only refers to the city space, but it also recalls a significant number for the stylist, recurring in many of his creations.
The atmosphere at Gucci Giardino 25 is that of a flower shop
Taking inspiration from the historic flower shop that used to be in its spaces, the bar stands out for the unusual but pleasant contrasts of its interior.
These contrasts are made by the meting of the aestethic code of the griffe and the Florentine context, drawing from the colors and perfumes that characterize a flower shop.
To remark the shop’s origin, lively flower compositions are decorating the tables and the big central counter.
The Parisian touch is given by the elegant wrought iron railing, framing the entrance and ideally circumscribing the interior’s spaces.
Wooden interior for a warm and intimate atmosphere
As soon as they enter, visitors are welcomed into a kind of intimate nest, combining Tuscan architectonic tradition with Parisian sophistication.
In an exchange that transcends space and time, dark wooden beams on the ceiling make for a warm environment, next to the boiserie recalling the late XVIII century style.
The place is also characterized by columns with carved capitals and a sequence of mustard-colored panels.
These panels are surrounded by mirror-like tiles in high relief behind the bar and intimate seats, welcoming up to sixteen guests.
To brighten the environment, sofas and chairs upholstered in peacock blue leather.
The precious durmast flooring is decorated with eight-pointed stars, while the smooth marble surface of the bar and the tables reflect the light coming from the ceiling.
Martina Bonci at the helm of Gucci Giardino 25
The bar, next to the refined Gucci Osteria by Massimo Bottura, has been entrusted to the young bartender from Umbria Martina Bonci.
Her creations are characterized by inventiveness and high quality ingredients, to make balanced and colored cocktails.
Among these cocktails, the Mémoire di Negroni stands out, in homage to the most famous Italian cocktail, created in Florence more than 100 years ago,
On the alcohol-free list we can find the 1921, dedicated to the year of fundation of Maison Gucci, characterized by earthy notes.
The menu brings to life the products of Tuscan countryside
At Gucci Giardino 25 the kitchen is open all day long, from breakfast to dinner and snacks served until late night.
The menu is designed to follow the pace of the seasons, and it is inspired by the products of Tuscan countryside.
Breakfast includes Italian pastry specialties next to creations inspired by Japan and Mexico, for a modern and international selection.
Finally, the menu includes also an afternoon tea proposal, with a selection of infusions and tea from all over the world, along with sweet and salty snacks.
A particular homage is given to Coffee Culture, with a wide choice of special mixtures to try at the bar.
