We are used to link fabrics such as fur or similars to clothes or shrugs. However, in the last years architects and designers have designed a variety of sofas and armchairs covered with fur, perfect ideas for the living room.

The cushions call to mind the soft powder puffs held together by an invisible metal tube frame, a full expression of a minimalist design.

The Cipria armchair by Edra, resulting from the inspiration and creativity of Fernando and Umberto Campana, is an example of this trend.

Thanks to the eco-fur covering it’s soft to the touch, as well as comfortable, thanks to the stuffing in Gellyfoam and synthetic wadding.

The same model is also available in sofa version.

B&b italia presents with a different look the popular armchair – J.J. Collection – designed by Antonio Citterio.

Its steel-rod structure conveys lightness, the wooden frame of the seat, instead, hints at traditional aesthetics.

The armchair product that you can see in the picture here below is covered with long-hair mongolian lamb fur and it’s even flitted with a sleigh.

An excellent expression of the traditional rocking chair.

Arflex presents original and ecogentric armchairs for the living room, like the Katrin armchair designed by the arch.

Carlo Colombo or the ‘Pecorelle’ collection of armchairs designed by the architect Cini Boeri.

The first one has a luxury and elegant design.

Its lacquered steel structure, evidence of a simple and sober style, highlights the seat that is totally covered with fur.

In designing the ‘Pecorelle’ collection the architect Cini Boeri was inspired by the works of Christo Vladimirov Javasev and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon, masters in the art of landscape painting.

‘Pecorelle’ results from the evolution of the popular sofa Strips: the armchair body is positioned on thin black legs that call to mind the sheep legs.

Finally, I present to you an alternative armchair that in my opinion it’s very original, a funny living room idea.

It may seem to be a toy for children, but it isn’t.

Jarrod Lim designed HIHO, a funny armchair that can be used as a rocking chair or as a traditional one.

As for the covering, it can be covered with synthetic fur or with sheepskin. Both can be removed and dry-cleaned.

An amazing idea to make your living room look original!!
