Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos projects this wonderful Villa in Colares, Portugal.
Colares, Portugal.
It’s a great pleasure for me to talk about this wonderful project carried out by one of the most important architectural firms in Portugal: Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos.
I love Portugal, we spend at least twenty days per year between sea, waves, surf and skimboard! How many hours spent on their beaches waiting for the tide to grow up, and how many minutes spent watching the people and their enviable way of enjoying life. I love their food, their adorable mix of ethnic groups and their happiness, made of simple things.
But back to us, to this villa built few steps from Sintra, completely overwhelmed by nature and surrounded by pine trees.
An individual compact volume, made of white concrete and huge windows. Inside, a large living room, an office area, three bedrooms, a master suite with enclosed sauna, a garage with a large workshop, a pool and a utility area.
The nature penetrates from anywhere in the home offering relax and harmony. Even the furnishings were chosen with the aim of not altering the candid tones shared by the whole house: the sofas and tables were designed by Marta Valsassina with ACM fabrics.
The chairs are from the 60’, made in Portugal by furniture manufacturers Moveis Cebalar. The outer space surrounding the entire villa deserves a special note: over the beautiful pool the gourgeous patios has not only chairs, but also comfortable outdoor showers.
